My brother and sister-in-law lost their first child, a baby boy, on Saturday. My sister-in-law's water broke at 18 weeks. They were forced to induce labor and deliver a a stillborn baby boy who weighed only 7 1/2 ounces, after a carefree and uneventful pregnancy. Both my brother and his wife were able to hold their son and take photos, as well as get hand and footprints. As you might imagine, this has devastated them and our family.
They asked me to make a very simple announcement to send to family and friends. Because of the sensitive nature and the suddenness of the death, they wanted to get the announcements in the mail as soon as possible. I had no idea what to make for this horrible occasion, so I searched SCS and found this wonderful example by RoseMc99: Memorial Thank You~Inside by RoseMc99 at Splitcoaststampers Thank you to Rose for posting her lovely memorials to her niece.
For simplicity's sake (and limited supplies on hand), we decided to go with a single layer card. I made a few matted cards for immediate family.

That is such sad news. I know this came from your heart, with tears and sorrow. But even in this time of sorrow, you have created something beautiful that will touch many other hearts. Peace be with you and your family.

We don't know why things like this happen, but knowing God is all-knowing and all-loving makes all the difference. I feel deep sympathy for your loss but your little nephew is alive and well in heaven with Jesus and someday you will see him...tfs

So sorry for your loss. What an amazing way to honour the little one. I lost one around the same time and it is very hard. I am sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

This is a beautiful tribute to your nephew. My sister had twins 15 years ago and one was stillborn. I wish we'd seen this poem then. I am sorry for your loss and send my prayers to you and your family.

What a beautiful and fitting card you created. My tears are flowing and I don't even know you, but am so sorry for this loss. The last line says it all, though -- this little one is in God's hands.
