This months' Dirty Girl challenge is Everything Old is New Again!
Challenge Focus: Use one of the oldest stamp sets you own along with embellishments and supplies you've had for what seems like forever.
Required Element: RAK - you must mail your card out as a RAK on 3/20 to any DD/DDA
Restricted Element: No stamps, tools, or supplies purchased or obtained within the last 6 months.
Bonus Challenge: Use a technique or style you haven't used in a long time, but was a favorite at some point in your stamping past.
I created this card using a couple of stamps that were among the first stamps I ever bought. Sorry, I can't remember where I got them, or what company made them (they were unmounted - no markings).
Gertie with her Chicken is still one of my favorite stamps, but until I made this card she hadn't seen ink in at least a couple of years. Tragic!
The alphabet behind her is another of my favorite images (again, no idea where I got it, or what company).
I used paper from the old Wild Asparagus line (LOVE it!!), ribbon from the bottom of my stash, and a vintage button.
Once I had Gertie stamped and painted, I stamped the alpha image in VersaMark ink and brushed two different colors of gold Pearl-Ex powder over the letters. I also rubbed some VersaMark on the base of the card and added Pearl-Ex powder to it as well. Lots of shimmer...lots of sparkle! I love the look of this technique, and haven't used it in what seems like FOREVER! It was fun to do again! And easy, too!
Now, I've got to put this baby in the mail... hope the dirty girl I've chosen LOVES it as much as I do! =)

The ribbon, dp and background alphabet are just perfect for Gert! Reminds me of my third grade teacher, Gertrude Fellenz, and she had the most beautiful handwriting, just like the stamped version here.

Anna, this is absolutely gorgeous! I love the pearl ex on the lettering and on the background paper. Your watercoloring is just stunning, knocking me off my chair, and those papers are so gorgeous and perfect for this image. Beautiful, very beautiful!

Gosh, I love everything about this card. Thanks, too, for the reminder about using PearlEx. I've got five bottles of it sitting in my room that haven't been opened in probably two or three years. Your card inspires me to use them. Thanks!
