I absolutely had a BALL making this. I used Ranger Walnut Stain to antique all of my embellishments, paper edges, etc. I printed all of the Soldier's photos in Sepia. I took all of the pictures in my backyard when the Soldier was home on leave.
This was one of those hodge-podge anything-goes type project. Anything my fingers touched in my scrap embellishment jar went on (ie. buttons, fibers, etc.) There was no rhyme or reason. I made my own turnabouts simply by punching a 3/4" circle out of cardstock or paper, punched a small hole in the middle and mounted an eyelet.
The photo corners I got at ACMoore; they were of the 'craft paper' color.
I only used 1 sheet of map-themed scrap paper; ripped it and stained it.
The 'definitions' came off of a sheet of definitions scrapbook paper found at Michaels or ACMoore.
Tickets were found at a local office supply store; I was able to buy them as singles instead of a whole box.
On the front of the album, I took camoflage themed scrapbook paper, ripped it down to size and carefully crumpled it into a little ball. I carefully straightened it out the best I could. I took a small crafting sponge soaked in walnut stain and ran it on the edges and the whole paper to accent all of the folds and wrinkles. (*note* you may want to wear surgical gloves for this technique as it will stain your hands...definately not a project to do the day after your manicure LOL).
