I wanted this card to look like the top of a cloisonne inlayed onyx box. My inlay was cut from a Martha Stewart magazine. I chose Riots of Petals for its true cloisonne intricate appearance.
Black was a perfect background choice so the color challenge fit it perfectly! All panels were embossed in gold to give a connected appearance.
The 2nd panel (The card is the first.) was made using the shaving cream technique. I added gold streaks to give it a marble appearance. I used Ranger black and Purely Pomegranate inks with Basic Gray and Marvy Gold Gel Metallic markers. I really like how this layer turned out.
All black and the cloisonne were covered with a Sakura Clear Glaze pen. It has a little grainy texture now, thus the etched (shiny streak)appearance. Better IRL!!! (I will try Crystal Effects next time for a smoother look.) A small dragonfly brad was added for an Oriental feel.
Hope you like it! Please fell free to comment! TFL!!! -Chrysi-
