I did this in a class. I don't know the name of the technique, but you start out by covering all but the very center of glossy card stock with a light brown. You keep adding darker colors as you get closer to the edge of the card until you end up putting black on the sides.
We used a stamp called a tonal applicator that added more texture on top the colors. Then stamped the watermill and finally the reeds and tree branches on the edges.

Wow, your card is wonderful! These stamps are fantastic. Your colors brings the whole setting to life. I got *lost* in the scene for a few min. Looking back into life in yesteryear, hard work but slow, ez living - the good old days!! TFS! May God bless, Sandi
