Just got home from my stamp class where we did the crackle glass technique. The secret is multiple layers of the Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (Michael's Crafts). Stamp the image with StayZon, let dry then color. Coat the entire piece with Versamark, coat with Embossing Enamel beads. Heat with embossing gun till melted. It is ok if the layer is not smooth - repeat the layers 3 to 4 times and it will be. Place piece in the freezer for about 5 minutes. Remove and gently bend to crack the enamel. If desired, gently sponge a light layer of a brown ink over entire surface to define the cracks.
I highly recommend the Watercolor paper - it doesn't flake if it gets too wet.
