Amelia loves it when Spring gets to Grandma's House - that means the back of the yard floods into a pond and the little tadpoles start gurgling in the mucky, muddy, knee-high deep water.
Time to get the net out and start the scooping them up process. She gathers a bunch in the net then carefully takes them out one at a time (she must talk to them or something) and lays them carefully back in the muck!
This is quite the annual process. I'm sure all of you with little ones that love the outdoor creepy, crawling, thingys know what I'm talking about!! One year I bought a tank and attempted to raise those slippery little tadpoles into frogs. The next year Amelia and her Mom gave it a try - I think we're all done with that process now - thank goodness!!
