Made for Sharon's (notimetostamp) Challenge #23 - Flourishes. I don't have any flourish stamps but I remembered I had this Basic Grey flourishy paper. I needed a birthday card for a male friend and this paper seemed masculine so here's Jack's card.
The Basic Grey paper is from the 6"x6" 'Perhaps' pad. I sponged on Tim Holtz distress inks and ran the pad around the edge of the paper. The corners are Cuttlebug die cuts with brads added.
I didn't want to cover up the fab paper but I knew I wanted to use a bookplate die cut but none of my birthday stamp sentiments fit inside so I computer generated the sentiment using Formal436 BT font. At least I was able to make it personal! But it means there's no stamping - gasp! - although I have stamped a birthday sentiment inside.
I'm never 100% sure about adding ribbon to a card for a man, but I liked it here - and at least there's no girly bow LOL!
