Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. You can buy compressed sponges at Michael's. You can get a big package of them or just buy one sheet at a time. Our Michael's has them in the back with the artist supples.
The way I learned to do the technique (and the way I teach it)is to cut off a small piece of your sponge, then lay the brush tip of your marker flat against the cut edge. I put several colors side-by-side. Give the sponge time to soak up some of the colors. Then I simply give the colored edge of the sponge a quick spritz of water (sometimes I use Windex!). That edge will puff up. Then you just dab, swirl, drag, whatever motion you like, onto the glossy cardstock. Totally simple and folks love it! Have fun!
