Here is a mailbox that I altered for my friend Beth for Valentine's Day! These little mailboxes are so easy and fun to make, I will definitely be making more of them! This is the view from the flag side, I posted a picture of the view from the other side.
I used Basic Grey Figgy Pudding dp to cover the mailbox (those red polka dots are perfect for a Valentine). I cut the paper 4 in. wide and 12 in. long. I then measured up 3 1/2 inches from the bottom left corner and cut in 1/2 inch. At the end of the 1/2 in. cut, I used my crop-a-dile to make a hole big enough to go around the base of the flag (I don't have a small circle punch to do this). I adhered the cover to the box with sticky strip and then ran black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the borders (ends) of the cover. The BE MINE sentiment was made using the black letters in the Figgy Pudding pack. The lid of the mailbox was covered with whisper white cs. I stamped a small heart from MFT's Boho Blossoms in real red, and added small red rhinestones the the centers of some of the hearts. The B is chipboard and I tied a piece of black grosgrain ribbon around part of it. I also tied a piece of black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the lid cover. On the non-flag side of the mailbox, I placed a whisper white panel stamped with a large heart image from MFT's Boho Blossoms (stamped in real red). In the corners of the panel I stamped a small flower from the same stamp set in basic black, I added a small red rhinestone to the centers of the little flowers. I matted this panel with real red and basic black. I decorated the top of the flag(each side) with the friend heart image from Loving Hearts, it is stamped in real red and cut out. I put a large red glittered brad in the center of the hearts and then matted the hearts with a small piece of basic black cs. I tied ribbon around the pole of the flag, I used basic black, whisper white, and real red 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I alternated the colors and used 3 pieces of each.
Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
