This is my swap card for Elisabeth's Occasions Mini Swap. (The colors are not as yellow as they appear in this photo!
I did the Brayered Sky (Zindorf Zindorf's Gallery at Splitcoaststampers ) technique on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then clear embossed the weeds stamp in Chocolate Chip Craft and Iridescent Ice embossed the butterfly in Ruby Red Craft over the background. EP'ed the sentiment, tied a knot in Chocolate Taffeta, adhered with lots of dimensionals and called it my swap.
I hope everyone likes it - I have made so many cards with this set already and uploaded a couple of them in my gallery. I am loving that weed patch stamp! Weeds or Flowers - I love 'em!
It is easiest to blend the colors on Glossy Paper, but it also is beautiful on Whisper White or Very Vanilla. The real key to be successful with this technique is to roll, roll, roll that brayer.
I brayered on Apricot Appeal ink over my Very Vanilla piece. Then brayered Groovy Guava ink just above and just below a strip near the middle to leave a highlighted area. Then brayered Pumpkin Pie ink just above and just below the Groovy Guava colors.
When I brayer each color, I always start off the edge of the paper and roll across, then pick it up and roll again. over and over. With the darker colors, sometimes I brayer it off a little bit on my grid paper, just to lessen the contrast between colors. It's easier to add more color than to take color off. Even when the ink is off your brayer, you can roll it back and forth the continue blending.
