Whooey! I've been behind on challenges all week, so I'm trying to catch up. This card was made for yesterday's limited supplies challenge (follow the list and using background stamps -NO dp or cuttlebug!) and today's inspiration challenge (flower seed packet)!
When I saw today's inspiration piece, I immediately thought of this fabulous background stamp by Great Impressions that I have! I just knew it would be perfect for both of the challenges. I really loved the pop of red flowers in the inspiration piece and wanted to use that in my card. I stamped the bg in black stazon on whisper white cs, and colored the flowers in with prismacolor pencils and blended with mineral spirits. The background layer is matted with basic black and creamy caramel. The main image panel is also matted with these colors. The main flower image is from MFT's Boho Blossoms. It is stamped in real red on whisper white cs and was cut out. I stamped the swirl from Boho Blossoms on the white panel in creamy caramel ink. I also stamped the sentiment from MFT's Essential Sentiments on the white panel (it is stamped in basic black). I adhered the flower to the panel with mini pop dots. I tied the basic black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the bg panel and knotted it through a swirled ribbon clip from the antique brass hodgepodge hardware kit. I then knotted a short piece of real red 1/4" grosgrain, and another piece of the black, through the clip.
I am really excited with how this turned out and I hope you like it too! Thanks for looking!
