This is my first mailbox....yes, I had to join the bandwagon on these adorable little mailboxes. It was so simple to make, I almost feel guilty that we are doing this for my club. I usually impress them with elaborate projects, but this one I could not even have made elaborate if I wanted to it's THAT SIMPLE! It took me 20 min. from start to finish. The paper on the body of my mailbox is 3 1/2 x 12 and wraps perfecty around and adheres on the bottom. The front and back panels are coordinating paper and all I did was trace the lid and cut INSIDE my tracing lines to get a perfect fit. While at Target, I also found these cute chipboard shapes that were already colored and were self-adhesive and some rhinestone flower shapes that were 2 in a pack for $1 (one is one the scallop on the flag). How cool is that? I stuck 2 chipboard flowers on the front. The paper actually has flowers on it as well as the dots, though none made it into the photo. The faux fur is from Hobby Lobby and it comes in 3 ft. sections. I can get 4 or 5 mailboxes out of one section. It may be hard to see in the photo, but the fur is actually a hot pink and white mix. Hobby Lobby also had 12 x 12 paper on sale 5/$1.00 so I loaded up to do this for my club. I would say this cost me $3.00 to make total. How cheap is that???? And, surprisingly, I didn't even stamp on this box.
