After reading a recent SCS discussion thread about the new postage rates and what it also means for thick and/or lumpy-bumpy cards, I decided I'd better design something flat for the remainder of my Christmas cards. This is pretty much a CASE of this wonderful card by kingmontmon: Rudolph and Dad by kingmontmom at Splitcoaststampers Her card is certainly the reason why I bought this Penny Black stamp over two years ago, and now I finally used it!
The tree image is stamped twice with Mellow Moss classic ink, once on Bashful Blue and once on White. I cut along the base of the trees on the white piece and layered it over the Bashful Blue to create the "snow."
The deer are stamped on paper vellum using Palette Burnt Sienna and embossed with clear detail embossing powder. Then I flipped the vellum over and stamped the snow with Palette New Canvas ink.
Little Rudolph's nose is really red, even though it looks more black in the photo. It's created with a silver Dot Sparklers sticker that I colored with my red alcohol marker and then dotted it with my clear Glaze pen and sprinkled red glitter on top. A red gem would work great, but that makes a "bump" on the card, so this was my alternative.
The sentiment is stamped with Memories Black ink and embossed with detail clear EP. The vellum piece is attached by folding the top and bottom edges over the tree image piece.
Now, I have to address and mail all my cards so I can start baking my Christmas cookies!

What an absolute perfect job! Love the detail and your explanation is great! The recipients of this beautiful work of art are in for a treat. Love the way you did those trees and the white cs with the bottom of the trees is genius!!
