A co-worker requested an altered frame (as a gift for the man in her life) with this beautiful piece of BasicGrey dp from their Scarlet's Letter Collection. The frame is one that I picked up for $1 at Michael's. I painted it with Magnolia White Opaque Acrylic Paint and a sponge brush. When it was dry, I traced the frame onto the backside of the dp and cut it out. I adhered the paper to the frame with Mod Podge. When the glue was dry, I sanded the edges with a sanding block. I love to see that white edge around the paper. I layered on some Mod Podge to seal the paper and give it a nice, finished look.
I stamped the sentiment from SU's Happy Harmony set on a scrap piece of Fate dp with Jet Black StazOn and VersaMark to clear emboss it (using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, of course). It was then adhered with Mod Podge to some Chipboard Hardware. I dug through my extensive ribbon collection and found this wonderful ribbon that coordinated perfectly. I attached it to the chipboard piece with some brads and adhered the chipboard and ribbons to the frame with Sticky Strip. (I hope you can read the sentiment on the chipboard piece. It's a dark and gloomy day here so I wasn't able to get the best picture.)
(Eventually this frame will hold a photo, but I can't stand to give someone a frame that's empty. To solve that, I just stamped one of the leafy stamps from Stem Silhouettes with Basic Gray (first, second and third generational stamping) and stamped a moon with Basic Gray (second generation) onto Whisper White cs and framed that.)
My co-worker was very pleased with it. I'd love to hear what you think about it, too.
