A co-worker requested an altered frame with this beautiful piece of BasicGrey dp from their Blush Collection. The frame is one that I picked up for $1 at Michael's. I painted it with Antique White Acrylic Paint and a sponge brush. When it was dry, I traced the frame onto the backside of the dp (making sure that the bird would be on the top corner) and cut it out. I adhered the paper to the frame with Mod Podge. When the glue was dry, I sanded the edges with a sanding block. I love to see that white edge around the paper. I layered on some Mod Podge to seal the paper and give it a nice, finished look.
The dp is so pretty, so all I added was a pink velvet flower, layered with a chipboard flower covererd with Delish dp and a cool blue flower. They're held together with a sparkly brad and adhered to the frame with a 3-D Memory Dot.
(Eventually this frame will hold a photo, but I can't stand to give someone a frame that's empty. To solve that, I just stamped one of the flowers from Stem Silhouettes with Rose Romance (first, second and third generational stamping) and stamped a sun with More Mustard onto Whisper White cs and framed that.)
My co-worker was very pleased with it. I'd love to hear what you think about it, too.
