Thank you Rox and Julia for two great challenges this week!
I combined the sketch challenge with the ways to use it challenge.
For the ways to use it challenge, we had to incorporate tape in our project. I immediately thought of a craft I did as a little girl involving masking tape. Back then I tore up bits of masking tape and put them all over an old nicely shaped wine bottle. I then applied brown shoe polish and wiped it with a rag. It looked like wood when I was done and the bottle became a candle holder.
For this card I did something similar. I tore up bits of masking tape (time consuming!) and folded them over the edge of the cardstock all the way around. Then I took a pad of brown dye ink and swiped it on the tape. It didn't dry, so I had to solve that problem by applying clear embossing powder and heat embossing.
I also used the spotlight technique for the snowman.
I outlined the snowman on the blue panel using a white gel pen. I also added some dots for snow with the gel pen.
The three stamps, snowman, snowflake and saying are from High Hopes Stamps.
I colored the main image first with Tombow pens and then with Twinkling H2O's. After the paint dried, I applied glitter all over the snowman that the photo doesn't show. he sparkles!!
