I was delighted to see this picture:(Forums at Splitcoaststampers) as one of PeggyÂ’s ad challenges this week because IÂ’d seen this ad months ago and had saved it to CASE one day in the futureÂ…well todayÂ’s that day! I had these photos of my 5-yr-old granddaughter, Madyson, in mind when I originally saw the l/o. So here is the fruit from the idea that had been simmering in the back of my mind for the past months!
I basically just cased this l/o, changing the colors, adding the bow instead of the little circle embellishment and the title and date. The base page is white (blue around outside is just background in photo.) The larger background dp and large letters are from a Provo Craft stack I bought at MichaelÂ’s last year; the flowered paper I found at JoAnnÂ’s. I resized my photos to fit the spots, added White, Brilliant Blue (SU) or light yellow (non-SU) mats; used an epoxy sticker I got at Dollar Tree for the center of the prima flower. I had some grosgrain ribbon that matched almost perfectly, so I added the bow. I used the Edwardian Script font for the date which I punched out with my designer label punch, backed by ticket-corner-punched Brilliant Blue. I used Brilliant Blue to ink the edges of the main center photo and inked all over a few of the large letters that were too light.
It felt good to finally get this sketch down on paper! I was planning to put it in one of my scrapbooks, but IÂ’m thinking now that I might frame it for my son and DIL for Christmas. WeÂ’ll see!
Thanks for looking!
