I get into moods where I just want to stamp on anything BUT paper! Background stamps are such a perfect tool for stamping on unusual surfaces because you only need to make a single impression which means there is less chance of making a mistake.
Creative Impressions sells a fabulous product called Cork Paper that has a nice dense "grain" and is lightweight so you can wrap in around if surface.
It was my mom's birthday this week and I wanted to make her a special little album of her grandson since she lives far away. This cork paper combined with the black and metal will be a perfect match to the decor in her kitchen. Did you know that they make cork flooring? It's so warm and cozy!
Supplies:
-End Diamonds Backgrounder Stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms (available December 1st)
-Pitch Black Adirondack Paint Dabber by Ranger
-Sepia Archival Ink by Ranger
-Ginger Adirondack Alcohol Ink by Ranger
-black felt
-Cuttlebug Heart Die & die cut machine
-mini album from the Michael's Dollar bin
-vintage button
Project Instructions:
1. Paint album with black paint dabber and allow to dry. The Adirondack Paint Dabbers CAN be heated with a heat tool to quicken the drying process. That is SO cool.
2. Cut cork paper to desired size, to fit the front and back covers of the album.
3. Ink End Diamonds images and stamp onto both cork pieces with Sepia Archival Ink. Allow to dry. You may need to use a heat tool to set the ink.
4. Adhere cork paper pieces to the album cover with strips of double sided tape.
5. Adhere a 3x3 piece of black felt to a piece of chipboard and die cut a heart. Color the edges of the chipboard with a black sharpie or Adirondack Pigment pen.
6. Apply Alcohol ink to the button with an Inking Tool & Felt and allow to dry. Cut the button shank off the back and adhere it to the heart.
7. Adhere the finished heart to the front of the album with a pop-up glue dot, craft glue dot or some type of fabric glue.
