I tried paper piecing for the first time, and wow, this was fun. The pieces are on the apron, scarf, and the green part of the hat. I used Celery DP, then colored in a darker green with Artichoke.
After doing the piecing, I thought it would be best to leave this card in a monochromatic green scheme. So instead of coloring in the poinsettia the traditional red, I left it white, and glittered it up by using a yellow Copic glitter pen in the inside (stamens), and Dazzling Diamonds on the petals.
The rhinestones are a pale green color, and they work great with this color scheme. I found these in the dollar bins at Michaels.
I was inspired to use this particular layout after seeing a card on Ellen Hutson's blog earlier this week. I believe she used a wreath for her focal image.
