Hubby and I have been in Texas for the last few months, and we're leaving for Japan right after New Year's. I wanted to do a more Texas-themed card for our Christmas cards this year so I picked Bareback 'cause I've always loved horses I'm ordering the Close to Cocoa Prints paper, so I'll be using various sheets of that when I mass produce these rather than the Apple Cider papers; this is just kinda my mock-up or prototype if you will. I think I'll also make the DSP part more like 1/3 of the card rather than half. I also thought I could do some of the cards with Blue Bayou Prints and a Close to Cocoa base so I can make a whole bunch without buying a zillion packs of the same DSP. I'm already buying a zillion packs of different DSP's. My mom wanted to know why I didn't do "Christmas colors" on this but the horses woulda looked weird if they were red or green, and I think it's Christmasy enough with the big ol' "Merry Christmas" right under the main image, thankyouverymuch. And DH gave the card a thumbs-up. There's a little bit of color added on with chalks, doesn't show up really good on all of the image but you can definitely tell IRL that it's got some color.

Take it from a born and bred, dyed in the wool Texan: This is a fantastic card. So it ain't red and green! Us cowfolks (and horsefolks) here love bucking the system!

Christy, I just saw your card and commented on it. A little further along, I found this card made by my friend Tater. I thought it was really good and you might like to look at it for another idea. Check this:
