Couldn't help it! Today's inspiration challenge was based on a card from Blue Mountain cards. I really liked the the fall colors used in the inspiration piece and that is what I based my card on.
Of course, I just realized that I used the wrong image as the inspiration piece. Hopefully the challenge police won't be too upset with me.
I also had to use my Ollie and Olivia stamp from Stampendous, these little owls are just too cute! I matted the main panel and the image panel in ruby red cs. The bg panel, I made myself. I started with apricot appeal and then sponged apricot appeal over the whole panel. I then sponged some close to cocoa further out from the center to the edge of the panel. Next I sponged ruby red around the edges. I then stamped one of the stem images from Stem Silhouttes on the panel in wild wasabi after stamping it off once before. I stamped another stem from the same set in so saffron. I really wanted to pull in the colors from the inspiration piece, but didn't want anything to be overpowering.
The owl image is stamped on very vanilla cs with black stazon. I water colored the image with the Aqua Painters and SU watercolor pencils. I sponged the edges with ruby red. The fabric leaf is from Michael's and I watercolored it with wild wasabi, pumpkin pie, and ruby red. It is attached with craft glue.
The sentiment is actually three seperate words from MFT's Boho Blossoms that are stamped directly on the bg panel in ruby red. I added antique brass brads to the corners of the bg panel to finish up the card.
I hope you like my loving Ollie and Olivia!
