| | My oldest DD was invited to share in her friend's celebration as a Bar Mitzvah. We're not Jewish, so I wasn't sure if there were color do's and don'ts so I went with Hanukkah colors---I hope it's okay?
The card itself is Fabriano paper. The image is embossed in silver on the card, and then in silver again on brilliant blus, and then in sapphire on bashful blue. I cut out the different elements and popped them up for layering. The sentiment is embossed in sapphire EP.
There's a funny story behind the 'why's' of this particular image---during the service at the Temple this morning, a bird managed to get into the building and was flying around during the boys' readings. When the Rabbi stood up to bless the boys, he mentioned how God had allowed the bird in the sanctuary as a symbol of their faith and dedication to the Scriptures. Then, much to the Rabbi's dismay, the bird promptly flew into one of the windows and hit the floor behind the platform with a thud. The kids tried so hard not to laugh, but 30 minutes later when the finally conscious bird staggered out into the middle aisle it was too much even for the adults---the entire congregation broke out in applause!!
So I thought the dove in the middle of the Star would remind my DD's friend of his own 'dove.' ;)
