I first did this technique when labullard posted it for the DTGD challenges this past summer. Dry Embossing on cardstock vellum. When I did this technique during the summer, I missed the words CARDSTOCK VELLUM in the description. I had a tough time of it on light vellum, and I didn't figure out what I was doing wrong until this fall when I was thinking about it (yes, it bugged me that long!!) and it was if the words CARDSTOCK VELLUM lit up behind my eyelids.
I thought of this technique right away when I saw this stamp set in the holiday mini. It went easier with the cardstock vellum - that's how I made the angel wings so white.
Now all the cutting of the layers under the angel, including the notch at the top? Don't even get me started - that took FOREVER!!!! And I'm a novice with an exacto blade. I'm just glad I didn't cut the vellum - that might have triggered a case of murder in the heavenlies!!!
I used chalk ink with the Fancy Pants flourish and then smudged it around the edges - I love the way it smudges when I want it to smudge - do I need to finish that thought?!!
