I kept wondering what to do for a wood challenge. As I was finishing my sons Birthday present today I thought why not enter it. It's got a Dry Embossed Dragon, Oriental Wood pegs and wood shadow box. So here it is.
I did the dragon with a brass template and Embossing Paste after it was dry I rubbed on some metal colors. I mounted it on DP and Goldleaf. The rest are added embelishments like Oriental wooden pegs, Oriental coins, raffia. To take up the space at the bottom I used River rocks and put red glass beads behind them to look like Dragon's eggs. I sure hope he likes it.

Hi ya! It's wonderful! Your son should love it. It gives me an idea as to what to do for my son. He has a second degree black belt is taking Chinese in college and loves that type of thing. I purchased a wooden bead that is the symbol for his birth in the Chinese zodiac. And, I just recently purchased a dragon stamp. I think I will borrow your idea and some of your techniques to make him a Christmas present. You did a great job!

Wow if you son doesn't like it, can I send you my address? I think it's gorgeous, I love all the different textures. There is a lot going on but I still get the feeling of calm when looking at it. Hey and look at all those chickens.I think we must have a lot in common!
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.
