It's been a while since I've made a shadowbox card, one of my favorite projects. I thought it would work great with these beautiful Thomas Kinkade stamps, and I love how it came out. Be on the lookout for even more Kinkade stamps available from Cornish Heritage Farms within the next few days: http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/kinkade.php
I've admired the Soft Sky and Blue Bayou combination many times in the gallery, so this is what I came up with. The Forest Chapel image is stamped on Whisper White with Blue Bayou (using a brayer to ink the stamp), then shaded just a little with a blender pen and Soft Sky and Blue Bayou inks. These beautiful Kinkade images make it so easy to create a WOW monochromatic card.
In order to accomodate these images, I adapted the shadowbox measurements to 4 1/4 x 7 inches, scored at 1/2 inch and 1 inch on both ends. See this SCS Resources tutorial for more details on how to make a shadowbox card: Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers After scoring, I masked off the sides of the front panel and stamped the center section with the Crackled Backgrounder using Soft Sky ink, then masked off the center panel and stamped the side panels. I made the window with my Coluzzle long oval template, third groove from the outside. For more dimension, I sponged around the opening and along all the edges and folds with Soft Sky.
This is a special belated birthday card for my husbands Niece-In-Law, who loves Thomas Kinkade.

OMGosh! Linda, this is stunning! I've avoided these stamps because I didn't think I could color them well enough! You've given me hope with the monochromatic look! Love it!

What an absolutely beautiful card! Stunning! You make it sound so easy to do yet it looks so very difficult. Really, really nice card! Thanks for sharing.
