Another try at SC144. I got this dragon stamp at Imprints in Fort Worth (thanks steubner for suggesting that as a meeting place, lol). This didn't turn out exactly as I imagined, but kinda sorta close.
For the main image, I brayered Real Red ink on glossy cardstock and let it dry (It's a closer match IRL). Then I stamped the dragons over it with Basic Black ink. The first time I did it, the black ink came out waaaaaayyy too light, so I thought I'd try black craft and emboss with clear EP, so I did that. This is when I discovered why I like SU stamps--the design on the medallion thingy in the middle isn't etched real deeply so the ink seeped into the cracks when I stamped, so the image wasn't real clear with that method. So, third time's sorta the charm right? I redid my glossy cardstock and then used a brayer to ink up the stamp with black classic ink. When I thought it was inked up enough I innked it some more, and then stamped. Still not a perfect image, but the best I could get.
The DP is some stuff I got at a scrapbook store when I was in college. I've used a piece of it on a card before...it's kind of odd, it's like origami paper or something. It's really lightweight and feels kinda like you might be able to see through it if that makes any sense. And to a certain extent it sticks to itself (I had two sheets in a page protector in a binder and they stuck together a little bit). So, yeah, that's the card.
