When my son was deployed to Iraq, this is the card I sent him. The multi-tone gold paper is from Michelle Anderson's designer paper "Americana" by Provo Craft. Each sheet has lighter and darker areas and I just turned the peices so the layers contrasted. I love that the color gives the card a desert feel. The solid cardstock is black and although you can't tell, the yellow ribbon was stamped on white, colored with Stampin Up pencils and is slightly raised. The brads are a brushed pewter color and came from Ben Franklin.

I love this card.....you did a wonderful job with the colors. I am assuming by what you said that your son is no longer in Iraq. Please thank him for us for his service!!
