For this week's inspiration Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I was initially drawn to the color combination. Then as I looked closer at the dinnerware, I noticed the design continuing throughout each piece, but in different colors. My first inspiration was to kiss a background stamp, and continue that pattern through the background paper. Looking through my background stamps, I thought the On the Spot bg stamp would be perfect. Then I needed to choose a solid image, and chose the Big Blossom. I wanted to bring all the colors together in the background paper, so I thought I'd use the Joseph's Coat technique, since I had so much fun doing it in the last sketch challenge. The hardest time I had was with the On the Spot stamp, and heat embossing it....once I tried to brayer the Night of Navy over the embossed image, I kept getting splotches of embossing. I finally got it the way I wanted it. Then proceded onto the Big Blossom. I stamped it with Tempting Turquoise, and kissed it with the On the Spot bg stamp. When I tried to align the circle images from the flower to the background circles, they wouldn't match up. Then I realized by kissing it, it reversed the direction the circles ended up. So, I had to change my technique. I stamped the blossom first, then stamped over the image with the On the Spot bg stamp, and cut it out. Then, looking through my ribbons....I found the PERFECT ribbons, where I could alter the colors, as well. Reminds me of Ying & Yang...lol I really like this one.
