Here's my card for this week's technique challenge - combining emboss resist and versamark resist. It took me several experiments to get a result I liked. I also broke into my new container of jumbo eyelets. I love my crop-a-dile!
ETA: For the main image, I stamped (on glossy white paper) the ferny-looking silhouette in versamark, varying the heights. Then I embossed with clear embossing powder. Then, I stamped the same image, a little higher, again with versamark. I heat set it for good measure so it wouldn't smudge. Then, I inked up my brayer on my Creole Spice kaleidacolor inkpad, and rolled the brayer over the glossy paper. I kept rolling till the colour was nice and and rich and smooth. It starts off a bit patchy at first, but it really does smooth out because of the glossy paper. You may need to ink up your brayer again to get the look you want (just make sure to keep the colours in roughly the same spot on the brayer or you'll get a muddy result). I let the ink dry a moment and rubbed the excess ink off the embossed images with a facial tissue. I love the brayered effect with the spectrum inkpads - so quick and easy but really rich in colour!
