Don't you love that Garth Brooks song "Friends in Low Places"? And by the way, Garth happens to be a neighbor; he and Tricia live just a few miles away. He's often spotted in my small town, and a couple of years ago I saw him eating lunch at Salad Alley. Are you totally impressed?!
Well, here's something even more impressive: I have a very sweet and talented friend who is coming out with her own line of stamps! She sent me a couple and asked if I would wait until close to the release date -- Sept. 4, next Tuesday -- before uploading anything I made with them. Well, obviously I can't be trusted. Could you, with such a cute piece of rubber that went so perfectly with today's Limited Supply Challenge?! I mean, who has that kind of self-discipline? Certainly not me, and if she were a good friend, she wouldn't ask me to do such a painfully difficult thing. So really, it's her fault, don't you think? And anyway, Gina K. -- who will be distributing these stamps -- has already talked about this new stamp line and created a card with a different stamp on her blog. And I saw a couple of cards by Bad Sherry and beadn&stampn in the gallery yesterday using images from this new stamp line. What am I?! Chopped liver?! Why should I be made to suffer? Good thing I adhere to the philosophy that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. (Guess I'll have to send my friend The Designer a pm when I finish uploading this. But like I said, she's a sweetheart, so she'll probably cut me some slack... :) )
Aren't these butterflies fun? And because you can color them in so many ways, they're really versatile. I combined two of today's three LSC Challenges:
1. Make a Halloween scene using three or more stamps -- I used the butterfly, Canvas bg, and a PaperTrey sentiment. My 'scene' is that these are balloons that have drifted up in the sky. The sky was created by stamping the Canvas bg in Cool Carribean.
2. Make a Halloween card using an animal stamp not meant to be used for this theme. Add stamps to make it a Halloween card -- well, I colored the butterflies in Halloween colors and used a Halloween sentiment.
The butterflies were colored with SU markers and their dots were highlighted with stickles. I used my brand new to-die-for Copic at-you-Spica pens to add shimmer to other parts of the butterflies. They're very sparkly IRL. The balloons were popped up on 3-D Dots and then their strings of black hemp were added.
TFL! And stay tuned for the first part of next week when The Designer reveals her line!!
