This is a shadow box card design that I created myself from scratch for my daughter's 4th birthday.
I knew that I wanted a fun theatre stage; ballet, circus style tent effect. So, I just set about working around the dimensions of the stamped ballerina image.
1. create a template design on blank paper. 2. trace template onto stripe cardstock. I made sure to leave excess paper at the peak of the castle as I wanted to wrap & glue those; to create a cone appearance. The back of the shadow box is also raised with a castle brick effect. 3. Color ballerina. 4. Embellish castle. Thick ribbon for stage curtain, large star brad for curtain tie, various cuttlebug dies. The green vine die cut is thread through the lattice die with some patina stickles. Somehow, I managed to get the whole castle through my spellbinders wizard die cutting machine to emboss the peaks of the castle alone in the "spots & dots" folder. I don't think the cuttlebug machine is wide enough to allow for this. Glue ribbon into place. 5. Make flags out of toothpicks, paint them, glue beads to top. 6. Roll peaks of castle around the flags and glue in place - hold for a while - doesn't take that long for the glue to set. 5. Tape back and front of castle together.
If anyone is interested in the template please email me and I can organise one.
