Thursday will be my last day at my job because we're moving, so I'm trying to make cards for my coworkers. This one is for one of my bosses, who loves the beach and lots of fun, bright stuff I did the flip-flop wheel in Tempting Turquoise (first time it's seen ink since I bought it last year) and I stamped the flowers in the background with Pixie Pink, Yoyo Yellow, and Tempting Turquoise. I used markers to color in the flower centers, and then I put a vellum overlay on top to tone down the colors a tiny bit since they were more vibrant than the flip-flops piece. The adhesive on that is hidden under the flip-flops
I stamped the word "friend" under the flip flops in pink, and then I wanted to add a little bit of a border so that the design would flow better and the "friend" part wouldn't feel like an afterthought. I got the ideas for the dots from this card by Jennifer Einolf: Rainbow Dots by Jennifer Einolf at Splitcoaststampers
I just lined up the piercing template where I wanted it, and then colored in the dots with a Yoyo Yellow marker. Presto! Instant border.
