It was really hard to get a good scan of this card, it has such soft colors. My little small town senior citizens center gave me this box of old lace, buttons, twill, buckles, etc....it was heaven. My husband saw the box and said, "what's that crap"? I told him it was a paper artist's dream and to step away from the box. So anyway, I'm having fun sorting and creating shabby chic cards. For this card, I used old lace and buttons along with some newer elements like the brad and spiral clip. Filigree background,"frienship" and sponging done in creamy caramel. Tip: When you design cards that use alot of embellishments, remember to create a visual triangle(buttons, clip and safety pin) and that odd nubmers are more pleasing to the eye than even(3 buttons). It's a good idea to sketch out a basic design too so that your collage cards still have a pleasing layout. Back to stamping now......

AAAACK! I'm so envious of your box of stuff! I'm a HUGE antiquer & love to go to estate sales & auctions & get boxes of old sewing stuff for cheap! We're shabby chic sisters~(my house is decorated shabby chic too). Keep em' coming, I need your inspiration! TFS! Lisa
