I bought some acrylic paints to play with. I had the idea to sponge layers like I had done when I painted my dining room. I started out with a piece of vellum and sponged my colors. Then I thought a design would look good. Dry embossing came to mind. However, the embossing was hard to see, so I painted the raised parts to make it stand out. I trimmed my vellum with deckle scissors and mounted it on a white card, but I felt it was plain. So I dabbed gold paint on the edges and finished my card.
If anyone else tries this technique, I'd love to see. Thanks for looking!

Wow! This is so pretty! The gold around the edges really sets it off! Great technique, too...may have to try this as I have a lot of acrylic paints that are screaming to be taken off the shelf and used!
