When I saw the inspiration piece, I was first drawn to the colors, then to the patterns in the triangular trees. So I knew I wanted to use the colors, the patterns and the triangular shapes somehow. I also liked the swirls behind the triangles.
The globe shape reminded me of a fish bowl, and then I realized that angel fish are kind of triangular.
Fish were stamped on vellum and colored with markers. Swirls were stamped off once and stamped on the background behind the vellum layer. Bottom pattern was done by cutting squares of cardstock and gluing them to black cardstock. Holes were punched in each square to let the white card behind show through. Top pattern was made by stamping circles then outlining with black, usign a circle template. The card still lacked something, so I added a sentiment and put it in a circle.
