I just love the sunflowers so I thought I’d try making one with the oval punch using just the small size this time.
I first punched a 1” circle from regular paper and used it and tacky glue to build the flower on. So after ink distressing the ovals I did the building.
Next I using brown cardstock I punched the same size circle. Lined it up on the swirls cuttlebug folder and embossed. Tool distressed it stamped with Itty Bitty background speckles and blued in placed.
Next the petals were distressed, I waited until after assemble to avoid bulk.
Last step for the flower head was to stamp it with Linen. With the stamp rubber up I pressed the flower onto the image and rubbed my finger along each petal. It may not cover completely and that’s the look I’m going for!
Next the stem is cut out from a whimsical sunflower image and now you assemble.
The yellow and red are stamped with Linen or Canvas then ink distressed.
The yellow is as bright in person as it appears on the screen.

A truly beautiful card! I just love the side panels with the brads! (Thanks so much for your tip on starting the flower on a 1" circle base- maybe I will have better luck making one of these flowers now :) !)
