IC80 Inspiration challenge based on a fun, topsy turvy cake.
I wanted my card to be tall, like the cake, so I decided that I would make it still fit in a normal envelope, but make it so it could be made bigger by pulling out another cake layer. I think what I made is called a slider card?
This is the card when the surprise has been revealed.
I sponged around all the cake layers to give them a bit more definition. Used punches to make the spots. The punched stars gave me trouble becasue my star punch is a thumb punch and I just could not get it to punch through SU colored cardstock. So, I colored brown, pink, and red with markers on both sides of regular paper and punched the stars. Stars are glued to thin strips (sticks) of brown paper. I dug through closets, hoping to find wider red ribbon, but this is the best I could find. The 'bead' borders were made with scallop scissors. I used stickles on the stars, since it looked like the stars on the real cake were covered in sparkly granulated sugar.
