My husband and I watched Sea Biscuit the other night. Since I had received this horse image from Wannabcre8tive (Thanks Shirley!) I was inspired to make this card. This is my story:
1. Growing up, my Dad's horse was Dusty and my horse was Sassy. Sassy had a white star on her head and Dusty had a white blaze. You can see why this stamp makes me think of them. The other three horses are neighborhood horses and for purposes of this card, they are Sassy and Dusty's next of kin.
2. One aftermoon I was riding Sassy and my boyfriend (who is now my husband of 32 years) drove up. Dad asked me to ride down to the mailbox and get the newspaper. I talked Kenny into jumping on the back to go with me. On the way back while still on my horse, he decides to open up the newspaper and see if his name was mentioned in the highlights of the football game. Sassy heard that rustling on her backside and took off just like Sea Biscuit did when he heard the bell!
4. Needless to say, Kenny's never been back on the backside of a horse, says he will stick to motorcycles because they don't have a mind of their own!
5. I was thinkingÂ…..What was he thinking?

Oh girl, this is so pretty; I love horses; and your story is amazing. Your husband should have known better, but guess he wasn't use to horses at that time. Sea Biscuit was such a cute story=love that movie; any movie with animals. I'd love to have a stamped image of this (do you recal the name of the stamp set). My nephew would love a card done with this. PM me if you know. TFS this beautiful card; and story.

I love your story; I love your card. So beautiful, Cindy. Awesome sky. I don't know much about horses, so forgive my ignorance if I write this wrong: I like how you made the horse rein (is that right?) out of the shelf paper, brads, and buckle---so kewl!

wow, you did a fabulous job coloring this. Great sky. Love the bridle at the bottom. Looks great. I am like Charlene, I don't know the proper terms either. My rodeo clowns aren't around for me to ask.
I agree with Kenny-I always stuck to motorcycles.

Love your card. I can relate to your dh. I went horse riding with friends once and the owner of the riding school we got the horses from. I am not much of a horse rider so I got a very placid horse. Well one of my friends went galloping off and mine decided to race after it. Fortunately the owner was there to help so all ended well. The girls who went galloping ahead did get in trouble though. Not sure I have been keep to ride a horse since then.

This is gorgeous! Great horses, great story, and another wonderful use of that shelf paper. Why did I forget to look for it when I was shopping yesterday? Gunnison (our summer residence) has the world's tiniest WalMart, I think, but they probably have shelf paper!
