For inspiration, I went into one of my bathrooms and looked at the floor. It is vinyl, but has a faux tile pattern of its own. A floral pattern is scattered across the 'tiles'.
I made my tiles by first scoring 1.25-inch squares on a piece of glossy paper. Next, I stamped the glossy paper with brown and caramel flowers. Then I lightly ran a brayer, inked up with blush blossom, over the paper. The grout lines stayed white, since they were recessed below the surface of the paper. I repeated the process for the sentiment layer, but for it, I stamped the sentiment first so that the text woud not have a white 'grout' line running down the middle of it.
I used a ribbon to 'attach' the sentiment. Hardware, such as brads, would crack tiles!
