What beautiful coloring you have done on this ! A bit of advice my sis who is a professional picture framer once told me , for the layering you want to pull colors that you used to color the picture , especially ones that you want to have pop in the image . Have fun , can't wait to see the finished product !

I'm so into subtle backgrounds that what I pictured were small butterflies stamped in the same olive ink as the paper on that top triangle of the green, then mount the watercolor picture on a slightly larger black than the white paper is and that would be it. Like everyone said, your watercoloring is gorgeous so don't add anything that would distract from that.

Gorgeous! I would agree with those suggesting to keep it simple and to put a mat on the picture. I would try black and see how you like it. Perhaps some ribbon, it's soft and wouldn't take from the main image. Would love to see what you decide to do. ~tfs
