Made this card for Roxie's Sketch Challenge 121. I love using lots of layers so I really liked this sketch (as you can see).
Started out with a card front in buckaroo (first time using this "in soon to be out" color -- and I really liek it). I covered it with Anna Griffin's Espalier Background stamp with just Versamark. Then I used some of my Once Upon a Time paper (DCWV) -- which is beautiful !! Because there is so much glitter on this paper, I decided to mat the piece onto a very vanilla piece but I edged it in gold using my Pilot Gold pen.
The main image was a bit time consuming. I wanted to use watercolor paper and spray my inked image but the white wc paper didn't match the DCWV paper. So, I wet the sheet, and then quickly brushed on some Summer Sun followed by Close to Cocoa until it matched the dp background. Then, of course, I had to let it dry -- boring!! Once it was dry, I inked up my Petal Prints stamp with Brocade blue and then touched the edges just a bit with Night of Navy ink. Then misted the stamp with water and stamped onto the watercolor paper. Matted this onto more Buckaroo blue. Then I took out my Designer Label punch -- love it (hoping they will bring out new stamps to match the shape in the new cateloge)! and punched a buckaroo blue tag. I edged it in the gold too and cut slits at each side. I then stamped the birthday greeting from Circle of Friends onto more of the treated watercolor paper (so it would match) in Brocade blue and edged it in gold too. put some cream colored organdy ribbon around the punch and tied it in a creative know.
Thanks for looking.
