Martha's Box

Photo Details
Poster: craftee

This is a project that was made in a class that I was unfortunately unable to attend but Jeannie - islandinkers was kind enough to send the projects to me. I asked Jeannie if it was ok to share and she was thrilled. This box is so cute and a good size and sturdy to put items in for a give-away or gift.
Box Dimensions: 5 ½”x5 ½” - Score all 4 sides 1 ½” Score each corner at an angle….to create box fold. Apply sticky strip to assemble box. (fold as seen in Stampin’ Success)
Finished box size: 2 ½” x 2 ½”

Patterned Paper Dimensions: 5 ½”x11” – Apply sticky strip to one long side and one short side on opposite side of designer paper. Peel off long strip coating and apply to box starting in the middle of one of the sides….continue to apply patterned paper around bottom of box. Peel off shorter piece of strip coating before completing around entire box then continue to assemble making sure the shorter side is lined up evenly.

Scallop Strip Dimensions: 1”x 11 ½” – Tip: Score long side ¼” to use as a guideline when punching with half slit punch. Start from right to left with bottom of slit punch facing toward you…punch 1 slit a slight bit off the side of the c/s…line up slit punch moving to the left…where you can see the last slit punched…and punch again…continue until you punch entire strip of c/s to create the scallop strip. Apply sticky strip to the scallop piece…and apply to box…trim as necessary

It is so cute AND very easy to do. There is no template. Just start with a 5.5 by 5.5 piece of cardstock and a 5.5 by 11 sheet of paper and follow the steps Judy outlined above.
Not sure about the little tag thingy on top. I just improvised. Take a peek in my gallery.

Which issue if Stampin' Success are you talking about for the box? They all run together and then I spent an afternoon looking through them- then my poor attention span directs me to something else and I forget what I was looking for in the first place! :-)
