Don'tcha just hate it when you've got your card almost all done and all you have to do is stick down your main image...and you get a big ol' hot pink fingerprint in the corner of it. Yeah, that's what happened to me. I tried to cover it up, but since it was ink and not watercolor crayon, I couldn't just blend it away. I was gonna just send the card as-is and even scanned it into the computer to upload it when I got a flash of inspiration (I love those. They could come a lot more often.) I had some scraps of yellow ribbon left from my Imeldabella card, so I peeled up the main image, punched a hole in the wonky corner and tied some ribbon through it. Presto! What fingerprint? I don't know anything about a fingerprint. As an added benefit, it draws the yellow over from the right side of the card (the yellow part was kind of a mid-card idea...I like it better with the ribbon on the left to make a visual triangle. See, I read all those "good design" magazine articles.)
This card is for my SIL's sister's 16th birthday. I've had this Whipper Snapper stamp for months and never used it, so today seemed like a good day to break it out. I colored it in with WWC in Subtles and Brights, using the Tempting Turquoise crayon lightly to make the sky kinda Cool Caribbean-y. I scribbled a lot of Certainly Celery for the grass and it's still not real dark; I have issues getting the Subtles crayons to look good. Anyway, the three background panels are all stamped with the flower from Little Pieces (love that flower), sponged around the edges, and then swiped on the ink pads to give a little defnition. This is my first time to use It's Your Birthday that I got free as a SAB incentive...in fact, this stamp is the only one I've mounted so far. Need to break in the rest of the set!

What an adorable card - I love your watercoloring! Also - great save on the ink spot in the corner - the yellow ribbon looks great and like you wanted it there in the first place. :-D

Your card is so cute! I love the ribbon - great way to take care of the fingerprint, but to also add a cute embellishment - it really adds to the card. I love the colorblocking you used - and your coloring/painting is fantastic! Adorable!
