My mother passed away December 27, 2002. This was one of the best ways that I could think of ... keeping Mother alive in my memory and heart. I have this shadow in my at home office and turn to view it several times a day. There are pics of us together; funny things (Lucy, Coyotes can Fly) a part of her nightgown that she wore for years ... to me this was alot like scrapbooking, but in 3D. Just wanted to share ...

You might want to put together a page to attach to the back explaining each item in the box, as to it's meaning or reason for being there. That way it will remain precious to your loved ones after you're gone. It will help them know your mom in a way that just pictures could never do!

What a beautiful idea! I'd love to make one of these for my dad of the 44 years he spent with my mom. We lost her in August 2002. It's hard to ask him to look through photographs as the emotion is still very raw for him. I'd love to make something like this for his birthday (not enough time to do one for Christmas this year)!!
