One thing led to another... I had round chipboard coasters... leftover CS I had printed row after row of itty-bitty 'happy birthday' (SU's Girly Girl font)... and a bunch of monogram sticky note pads from Mikey's dollar bins... and it all came together tonight. I had picked up many monogram sticky notes to make small BD gifts for the office.
I glued my customized CS to the coaster; cut then sanded the edges for a perfect 'fit'; used a dauber to ink the edges of the coaster; glued the note pad to the coaster; an assortment of ribbons/fibers on a spiral clip (the pad has numerous colored papers in it, ribbons reflect most of them except for purple...); and glued the be-ribboned spiral clip to the coaster.
This one was targeting 'Jerry', but I think it's a bit too girly... maybe for Jan instead. Any suggestions how I might 'masculinize' or at least neutralize these when the note pad's starting colors are purple, red, yellow, or blue?

Great idea. I suspect it is the purple that is making it "girly"... maybe the ribbons, too? What about raffia/hemp? I really like this way to present the gift of the monogram note pad.
