I never wait until the end of a mini catalog period to order a stamp set! If I want it, I usually order it right away to have as much play time as possible while it is current. I didn't think I needed this set, although I thought it was cute. But somehow it sneaked onto my last order in February. . . I'm sure that at least one or two of you understand this phenomenon. It might be an indirect result of El Nino or global warming. . .
My set arrived yesterday; that's why I'm a "latte late, eh?" posting with it. This background paper is Basic Grey Blush** collection--love the stuff! SU card stock is Kraft, Cool Caribbean, Very Vanilla, and Pretty in Pink. I stamped the Lace background with white craft ink, then embossed it with detail white embossing powder on the Cool Caribbean layer to resemble a lace tablecloth, and I used the slit punch to scallop the edge. Pink scalloped layer was punched with a Marvy mega scalloped circle punch and stamped with the swirlies that are supposed to be coffee steam--I love those swirls! The foam is liquid applique, sponged lightly with cocoa ink. I applied a thin layer of glitter to the heart. Ribbon is double-sided pink and brown, non-SU. The dog tag punch was a bit too wide to punch my tag, so I cut it in a rectangle and used a tiny corner rounder to give it the dog-tag-look. Eyelet is SU Pretty in Pink, and linen thread is also SU.
Even though I waited very late to get Like it a Latte, I am still glad that it's mine. I think it's the prettiest coffee/chocolate set to come out in a while, and I'm rooting for it to make the big catalog next time around!
