This is a scrapbook page on a very unlikely topic.
My journaling reads:
My sweet Cortney has learned to curse. Yep, I said it....she can swear like the best of them! I know for most parents this would definitely NOT be a scrapbookable moment, but for me....well it is cause for celebration! For so many years speech has been a huge hurdle for her. How did she learn this NOT so nice word? Let's just say she overheard one of her parents talking on the phone... and let's just say that she now associates this particular work with that parent. And everytime she sees HIM...ooops, I mean, that parent, she swears at him! Of course she knows it's a bad work because she gets her evil little giggle after she says it. The first few times she said it, Brian and I were cracking up. She says it sooo cute and sing songy. Then being the responsible parents we are, decided that it probably wasn't appropriate to go around saying this word! We nipped it in the but, but every now and then when she sees her Daddy, she very lovingly says, "I love you...A#@&?*!"
Before you call DCFS, please understand that my daughter has Cerebral Palsy and we waited sooo many years for her to talk. We are excited with ALL her progress! (Even if it is a curse word!)
