I tried my hand at this very neat card design - thanks to the original designer! My version is a bit larger, 5 x 7 to allow for 4 x 6 recipe cards.
I stopped by my consultant's house tonight to "pre-use" some of her "pre-order". THANK YOU C.K.! This is the last of four workshop projects for April.... simple enough to replicate.
That tab punch is about awesome! TFL
In response to a few questions I received, below is information on:
- where to find this pattern
- how to make it this size (larger than the original pattern)
- link to my actual recipes (Word files)
I originally saw the general pattern when I did poked around in,
This link should get you there... then go to the page containing posts #36 and #38 and she has picutures on how to make the criss cross card. I simply altered the measurements and made my card (instead of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4) 7 x 5. So I had three 7 x 5 pieces; one of Tempting Turqoise, one of Cool Caribbean, and one of Regal Rose.
The CC and RR pieces were cut diagonally (put opposite corners of the 7 x 5 in the gully of your paper cutter and cut). The patterned paper was cut diagonally from a 4 x 6 piece of paper.
One thing in the original directions that threw me (not difficult!) was the assembly. Basically you glue the left edge and bottom of the Cool Caribbean and the right edge and bottom of the Regal Rose to the Tempting Turqoise base.
Then you make your inserts (recipes) small enough to allow for the space taken up by the adhesive. I was trapped in the "box" of thinking there had to be flaps that wrapped around the back to put the card together - but not so.
Here is a link to FORUMS, DOWNLOADS where I put the Word files for the three recipes. Hope that helps!
