The first page about our big trip to the zoo. I was very excited about this event where I got to go with my sister and her children to the zoo using a family pass I'd won the week before the drove out to visit -- talk about fortuitous! So, I took a LOT of pix with my digital camera and wanted to scrap many of them. I started out by grouping the pix by events in the order we did them, and referred to a Becky Higgins Sketches magazine to try and come up with a plan for the many pix.
I used black cs for the background throughout as it went with all the photos and let the emphasis be on the pix, and carried the stars throughout the entire series of pages to try and enhance the unity between the pages. I also used them to try and help lead the eye through my layouts. Frex, on this layout the stars start in the upper left, where western eyes naturally start looking.
On this page, I loved that the green cs went perfectly with the colour of the pond we paddle-boated in. It's such a pretty green, plus matching with a colour in the background of the photos in this case emphasised the subjects of the photos. The letters in the title are from a neutral set of Letter Stax (by ProvoCraft?). The journaling on this page was printed from my computer, but on the rest of the pages I hand-wrote it because for me that is WAY faster and more convenient, even though at the time my scrapping space was just across the hall from my computer.
Thanks for looking!
